Participants will have the opportunity to test and earn belts and should plan on attending at least one day per week. \nKarate is open to youth in grades 2nd-12th. \nKarate meets on Mondays (5:00-6:15 PM)\, Wednesdays (5:00-6:15 PM)\, and Saturdays (8:00-10:00 AM). \nCost: $20/6 months. DESCRIPTION:The Climbing Club focuses on safe climbing\, climbing techniques\, and having fun! Instructor Bill Kelly is a seasoned climber with a lot of expertise to share. All participants must have a release form signed by a parent/guardian on file. Parents\, guardians\, and guests are welcome! It meets on Mondays from 4:30-6:30 PM. \nCost: $20 for 6 months. Climbing Club operates year-round. The total cost for all sessions is $20. We ask participants to re-register every 6 months. \nParticipants younger than 5th grade are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent.  \nClimbing Club Dates:\nMarch 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\nApril 6\, 13\, 20\, 27\nMay 4\, 11\, 18 \nThe club is limited to 12 new climbers\, and an unlimited number of returning climbers are welcome. \nPlease note: This is a popular club with limited space. Join us for a hike around Devil’s Lake. \nDestination: Devil’s Lake State Park\, Baraboo\, Wisconsin (Approximately a 2-hour drive from the Brigade) \nDeparture: From the Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade at 8:00 AM \nReturn: Approximately 6:00 PM \nDrive Time: About 2 hours each way \nHike Details:  \n\nLength: Entire loop; approximately 3+ miles\nDifficulty: Strenuous\, with steep climbs\, descents\, stairways\, and bluffs/cliffs\nTarget Participants: Experienced hikers comfortable with long distances and steep hills\n\nPacking List: \n\nPlenty of water\nSnacks (High in protein and carbs for quick energy)\nSack lunch or money for on-site restaurant\nSunscreen\nOptional: Money for ice cream shop and gift shop\n\nLunch: We will stop for lunch at the half-way point (Where the restaurant/ice cream/gift shop are located) \nThis hike is a great opportunity for experienced hikers to challenge themselves and enjoy the beautiful scenery at Devil’s Lake!

Members of the club volunteer their time and efforts to help care for animals\, assist with the maintenance of the humane society\, and promote animal welfare within the community. \nDetails of this club are as follows: \nProgram Duration: 6-week program \nCost: $10 – covers all 6 sessions. \nTime: 4:00 PM – 5:45 PM \nDrop-off time: 4:00 PM \nPick-up time: 5:45 PM \nDrop-off & Pick-up Location: The Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade – 109 W Columbian Ave. Neenah\, 54956 \n\nWe will be traveling together in a Brigade van to the Fox Valley Humane Association\n\nVolunteer Duration: We will arrive to the Humane Society at 4:30 PM and provide volunteer work until 5:30 PM \nThis club meets on the following Tuesdays: \n\nSeptember 24\nOctober 1\nOctober 8\nOctober 15\nOctober 22\nOctober 29\n\nAttire: Please dress in clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. \nAdult Volunteer: We are looking for one other adult volunteer willing to provide supervision for the entire duration of the volunteer program. Volunteers must complete a background check at least two weeks prior to the start of the activity. \nVolunteer Details and Tasks that we may be performing (Description provided by the Fox Valley Humane Association): \n\nPlease note that we cannot guarantee animal interaction during every visit. \nPlease review the entire description of tasks with your child before registering.\n\nDue to the recent influx of animals and our increasing need for volunteer support\, we have explored various ways for youth volunteers to contribute meaningfully. Here are some of the options we are considering offering:\n\n\nShelter Maintenance – Dishes and Laundry:\nOne of our most crucial ongoing needs is help with shelter maintenance\, particularly dishes and laundry. Volunteers will wash and dry food bowls\, water dishes\, and other items used by our animals. Additionally\, they will help with washing\, drying\, and folding the laundry\, which includes blankets\, towels\, and bedding for the animals.\n\n\nPreparing Dinner for the Cats:\nVolunteers will assist in preparing food dishes for our cats. This involves measuring out food\, filling dishes\, and ensuring everything is ready for staff to distribute to the cats at feeding time. It’s a great way to get to know our feline residents and ensure they have a nutritious meal. A chart will be available for the volunteers to follow.\n\n\nPreparing Dinner for the Dogs:\nVolunteers can help with preparing food dishes for our dogs. This task involves measuring out food\, filling dishes\, and ensuring everything is ready for staff to distribute to the dogs. Proper nutrition is vital for our dogs’ health and well-being. A chart will be available for the volunteers to follow.\n\n\nCat Socializing:\nSocializing with our cats is a wonderful way to provide them with the attention and enrichment they need. Volunteers will spend time with the cats\, offering gentle attention\, playing with them\, and giving them treats. This helps the cats feel more comfortable and happier\, and it can be very rewarding for the volunteers as well.\n\n\nKennel Cleaning:\nKeeping our dog kennels clean is essential for the health and well-being of our animals. Volunteers will help by spraying out empty dog kennels\, ensuring they are clean and ready for the next occupant. This task is vital for maintaining a sanitary and comfortable environment for our dogs.\n\n\nMaking Animal Enrichment:\nVolunteers will create enrichment activities for our animals\, such as filling Kongs for dogs or treat toys for cats. These activities help keep our animals mentally stimulated and happy while they await adoption.

Participants will have the opportunity to test and earn belts and should plan on attending at least one day per week. \nKarate is open to youth in grades 2nd-12th. \nKarate meets on Mondays (5:00-6:15 PM)\, Wednesdays (5:00-6:15 PM)\, and Saturdays (8:00-10:00 AM). \nCost: $20/6 months. DESCRIPTION:The Brigade is returning to the New Zoo & Adventure Park! \nSeptember 27th is a NO SCHOOL DAY for NJSD! What better way to spend the day off than to experience all of the fun that the New Zoo & Adventure Park in Green Bay has to offer! We will conquer the high ropes course\, hitch a ride on the exhilarating zipline\, and climb the rock wall! \nHere’s a summary of the details: \nDate: September 27 \nDeparture: From the Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade at 10:45 AM \n*If your child cannot participate because of work scheduling conflicts based on the drop-off time\, please reach out to mwinters@bgbrigade.com to discuss the possibility of arranging an earlier drop-off time that works for you. \nArrival at Park: Around 11:30 AM \nLunch: At a picnic table around 11:30 AM (Pack a sack lunch and water bottle) \nActivities: High ropes course\, zipline\, rock climbing wall \nTime of Adventures: 12:30 PM – 2:30/3:00 PM \nReturn to Brigade: Approximately 3:45 PM (Time may be subject to change.
