We’re kicking off the day bright and early, hitting the road to Chicago for a jam-packed trip that’s sure to make waves. From indulging in Chicago’s world-famous pizza at Giordano’s to exploring the mesmerizing marine life at Shedd Aquarium, this is a day you won’t want to miss. Along the way, we’ll stop for a tasty bite at Culvers to refuel before heading home. Grab your sense of adventure, and let’s dive into an exciting journey together!
Shedd Aquarium Day Trip Itinerary:
Departure
- Meet at Brigade at 7:30 AM
- Begin the journey to Chicago! (Estimated drive time: 3 hours 30 minutes)
Lunch Stop:
Arrive at Giordano’s Pizza around 11:00 AM
- Enjoy Chicago’s famous deep-dish pizza!
- Pizza is included in the cost of the trip.
- Students should bring their own money for soda or any additional purchases.
Shedd Aquarium:
- Arrive at Shedd Aquarium at approx. 12:30 PM
- Explore the aquarium from 12:30-4:00 PM
- Experience aquatic wonders, from sharks to jellyfish!
Dinner Stop (Cost not included):
- Depart Shedd at 4:00 PM.
- Arrive at Culvers in Kenosha (5220 Green Bay Rd.) at approx. 5:30 PM
- Enjoy a quick meal before heading home.
- Please note, Culvers is not included in the cost of this trip. Please send money with your child, or, if you prefer, please send a sack dinner with your child.
Return:
- Depart Culvers at approx. 6:15 PM
- Arrive back at Brigade at approx. 9:00 PM (We will text all parents when we leave Culvers and notify you of our ETA).
Important notes:
- Bring spending money for any personal purchases at Giordano’s, the aquarium gift shop, and Culvers.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a small bag for any essentials.
- Bring a water bottle and snacks for the long drive.
- This trip may be cancelled if there are less than 5 participants. We will notify you of any cancellations and you will receive a full refund if the trip is cancelled.
- Get ready for a fun day of exploring and making memories!
Chaperones:
If you are interested in chaperoning this activity, please reach out to mwinters@bgbrigade.com. All chaperones must complete a background check at least two weeks prior to the trip. Chaperones are responsible for the cost of any personal purchases and dinner (pizza and aquarium ticket are provided). The chaperone’s primary role is to assist with supervising the group of kids. This includes helping them stay on schedule, navigating the aquarium, and ensuring they’re following group guidelines.
