Scholarships

Each summer, Camp Onaway hosts a total of 1,000+ youth on a 6.5-acre island located on the Chain O’ Lakes in Waupaca. Youth have the opportunity to engage in popular camp activities like swimming, tubing, water skiing, and team games. Underneath the fun, the real magic of Onaway is found in the lifelong friendships made, the development of life skills, and meaningful relationships made with trusted adult mentors.

Despite our low cost of registration, the need for scholarships to attend camp continues rising exponentially each summer. It is Brigade’s goal to send every child to Onaway who wants to go. Because of this, we’re aiming to raise $30,000 for Camp Onaway scholarships next summer.

Fund a Camp Scholarship

When making a camp scholarship donation, please specify that is what it is for. This can be done by selecting “Camp Onaway” for the campaign and “Scholarships” for the purpose in the dropdown menu when donating online. Or, specify Camp Onaway scholarships when making donations by phone or mail.

What does a contribution support?

  • $500 provides a full scholarship to a week-long camp and includes $25 credit at the camp store.
  • $250 provides a half scholarship to a week-long camp and includes a $12.50 credit at the camp store.
  • $100 makes it possible for first-time overnight campers to experience Onaway at Anchor Camp.
  • $40 makes day camp possible for one child.

If you’d like to donate toward Building Leaders, music/tech, Discover Series, general operations, or any other Brigade program, you can select your desired campaign in the dropdown menu when donating online. Otherwise, please specify when donating by phone or mail.

What does a contribution support?

  • $300 provides scholarships for 2 students to participate in the 22-week long Building Leaders Program
  • $150 provides a scholarship for 1 student to participate in the 22-week long Building Leaders Program
  • $ 125 provides a student with one month of individual music lessons
